How to make Insect houses – 11TH September 2025 BOOK NOW AS LIMITED PLACES

THIS COURSE WILL RUN AGAIN ON 11TH SEPTEMBER 2025.(There is some flexibility in this though so if you and three friends wanted to come down and make a weekend of it then call Jan and we can find a date to suit all.

Having spent 20 years building up an incredible diversity of wildlife at Maddocks Farm Organics we arrived in Budleigh to a 1/2 acre stony site which made me cry it was so devoid of life. And so we started again. Two years later we are bucking the trend with increases in wildlife.

The cost of the course is £60 (inclusive of VAT)- including materials.

A fabulous afternoon spent creating first class accommodation for the insects in your garden.

With 20 years experience of attracting a wonderful array of wildlife to her multi award winning organic farm, Jan is now starting again on a small garden patch and wants to share the techniques that she will use to attract insects to the new plot.

• 2pm Arrive for tea/coffee.
• 2-3pm Discussion on techniques to attract insects and other wildlife; identification (ie which are goodies and baddies and are the baddies really bad!); food to keep them happy and good materials to offer them shelter and support your lovely new additions year round.
• 3-3.15pm Coffee and brownies
• 3.15-4.30 – Make a flower pot insect house or wooden (depending on complexity) to take home and ideas and inspiration for more.
• 4.30-4.45pm Any questions then departure.
